Becca grew up in Nelson County. She lived in Charlottesville for several years before moving to Richmond in 1998 to study English at VCU. During her 18 years in Richmond, she graduated Cum Laude, married husband Michael in 2009, and had daughter Cecelia in 2011. She also fell into a wonderful career with the Jefferson Hotel, where she worked the entire 18 years, and left the company having held the Purchasing Manager and Accounts Payable positions simultaneously, so that the family could move to Goochland County for Cecelia’s schooling.
What’s the best part of your job?
Even though it was bittersweet to leave the Jefferson family, the best part of my job so far has been just having the opportunity to learn something completely different. I love to take care of people, and I love to make sure that things are being handled efficiently and thoroughly so that the customer and the company both thrive. The NWG family has welcomed me with open arms, and it has been very exciting to form these new relationships.
When you’re not at work, what’s your favorite thing to do for fun?
Above all else, I love to spend time with my daughter and husband and our fur babies. I have to make family time on the weekends in order to recharge and keep life in perspective. I also love music- listening to music, seeing live music, playing music, reading about music, watching TV about music…you get the idea. Music makes all the yucky grownup/adulting responsibilities more fun while you’re doing them.
Name one thing about you that most people don’t know or wouldn’t expect.
Prince was my hero, and I cried for two days when he died, and I’m not ashamed to admit it! I have one pair of work shoes, one pair of dress shoes, but about a million pairs of sneakers. I love animated movies, and I may or may not watch them even when my kid isn’t around…. Also, I don’t like ice cream. Yuck.
