Ben Thomas - Founder
Ben founded NWG Solutions to respond to the needs of small businesses without an IT staff to handle their computer and network support needs. Ben started as a senior IT consultant with Medical Center Computing at the UVA Medical Center, worked as a senior systems engineer for the telemedicine division of Multimedia Medical Systems, then headed the network design engineering group at Broadslate Networks. Having worked in the technical support arena for 15 years, Ben’s focus remains to provide more than just quality technical expertise – but to build and maintain valuable business relationship with each client.
Shannon Connors - Operations Manager
Shannon joined NWG in 2006, after being in the customer service field for 10 years. Originally from upstate NY, she holds a B.S. in English from Oneonta State. Shannon is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the company as well as project and account management.
Rob Tharp - Technical Services Manager
Rob initially started with NWG Solutions in 2002. After a 1 year hiatus in NoVa he returned in 2008 as the Technical Services Manager. Raised in Charlottesville Rob has nearly 20 year of experience in the IT industry. Rob started his IT career at National System Corporation, a software development company in Chicago, IL. and returned to Charlottesville in 2000 as a Senior Systems Analyst at Broadslate Networks.
Chris Cannon - IT Technician/Consultant
Originally from Bloomington Indiana, Chris joined NWG Solutions in 2008. Prior to NWG Solutions, Chris has worked 11 years in the Information Technology field in both business and education environments. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University in Business Management along with multiple Microsoft certifications.
Michael Donlon - IT Technician/Consultant
Raised in Charlottesville, he started with NWG Solutions while still at PVCC in 2007. Since then, he has focused on providing both daily client support and developing our VIOS Monitoring System. Michael holds multiple Microsoft Certifications including Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.
David Hargis - IT Technician/Consultant
David grew up near Fredericksburg, VA and moved to Charlottesville almost 4 years ago after visiting family here. While studying Civil Engineering at PVCC he worked as a draftsperson and designer. His responsibilities and interests drifted away from design and towards the implementation and troubleshooting of networks, operating systems, virus infections and general computer repair. When not working, he enjoys working out and training at Crossfit Charlottesville and furthering his knowledge base by preparing for certifications.
Ian MacCall - IT Technician/Consultant
Ian has been with NWG Solutions since 2005. He holds a degree from PVCC in networking along with 15 years of personal computing experience. His experience includes 7 years in the Information Technology field including website authoring, desktop computing support, server installation and support, and network administration.
Carter Easter-Bench Technician
Born and Raised in Charlottesville, currently a student at PVCC since 2007. Has taken many networking and IT focused courses. As well as Help Desk experience and IT related field work through an internship at Martha Jefferson Hospital. He is currently working toward Microsoft Certifications.
Mariel Muller- Office Manager
Mariel recently joined the NWG Solutions team. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology and International Humanities from James Madison University. Mariel handles the office dispatch and assists with other administrative duties. She has studied abroad in Central Europe, speaks German, and loves to travel.
